Does anyone know what happens to full-time JW's(DO's, CO's, Missionaries, Special pioneers, etc) when they reach old age?
by african GB Member ini am just wondering since these people never work a secular job.
is there some sort of an arrangement from the society to care for them?
presuming they don't even have children of their own to look after them when they are old..

LINUX-users left in 'the dark' with Watchtower Library CD's ??
by linux-user inhi, i was wondering why there isn't any native linux-version yet of the watchtower library cd's available?
because i(as many others) don't use windows, but the free ubuntu-linux( http://www.ubuntu.com/ ) on my computer, and can only view those cd's with a free 'emulator', called 'wine', but that is not always 'working good' .... so, please, can there in the future be a possibility to get a native linux cd ??

From the start of the '80's? Maybe they'll release a version compatible with my Vic-20 then?

Two possibilities: the woman in the middle is sitting on a vibrating cushion; the woman in the middle has just dropped the WORLDS BIGGEST fart and blown the seat out of her non-scriptural illegal trousers, and it's just stinging the nostrils of the massed ranks around her. Which explains their pained expressions.

What's Your Favourite Way to Treat a Bad Cold?
by lifelong humanist ini've been suffering from a really bad cold, with flu-type symptoms, for almost a week now.
very unusual for me.. it couldn't have come at a worse time, as i've just started working as a self-employed person, working outdoors in all weathers.
no sick pay, so no money coming in.. i expect that i'll be ok for monday, though.. i'm right in the middle of making a homemade lamb curry.

For a sore throat, hot honey and lemon with a shot of brandy in it, but a runny nose requires a pharaceutical battering. Try Actifed if you can get it there, failing that a polycell gap gun squirted up each nostril should stop the flow. Or corks. Seriously, if you can just go hibernate for a day or two and sod the rest of the world. We'll still be here when you're better.

Thanks very much Teel, you now have linux guru status, so you can expect to be plagued by us Acolytes of the Almighty Penguin. Don't you just love that term "supported by donation"? Surely a euphemism for "dig deeper you miserly heathen". You get guilt tripped into donating excessively so you don't seem to be as tight as a fly's rectum and depriving the GB of a second bottle of Krug.

I hate to pee on anyone's bonfire, but isn't the date somewhat arbitrary? 12/21/12 might seem mystical or have some meaning in numerology, but that's only if you use the US format of writing dates with the month preceeding the day. Here in the UK it's the norm to write day-month-year, e.g. 21/12/12, so does it still apply here or do we have to miss out. Just like we do for new movies, software, Apple gadgets etc?

Christian Fundies KILL their son
by wobble inherbert and catherine schaibel of the first century gospel church in philadelphia were convicted in december of involuntary manslaughter of their son, kent, who had a lung infection and they tried to pray the problem away as their church sees the use of meds.
as a lack of faith in god and therefore a sin.
the poor lad died.. i found this comment on the case , as reported in the guardian (u.k) newspaper thurs 3rd feb. pg 25:.

Christian Scientist? Now there's an oxymoron if ever I heard one. There's bugger all science involved here, and I can hardly think it's a very Christian thing to do either. Maybe it's not so much oxy and more MORON.

Just a thought, do the individual Borgs have to pay the WT for the CD? If so, might that preclude a native Linux version that used any open source code as it would contravene the GPL? How could they make any money from that?

Does anyone know if the Propaganda CD is available as a bit torrent anywhere? I've never been assimilated, just hovered on the peripheries of the Borg, and that's dissipated hugely over the last few months, so I can't borrow a legit one without showing up on radar again. I just want access to the same arsenal they use.
Incidentally, I use Mint 10 64-bit and OpenSUSE, both without problems. I think Wine had stability issues with KDE4 at first, but they seem resolved with more recent distros.
